hats on the hook
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
The lead up to 'Eid just over a week ago saw some hat hookiness going. My boys don't usually wear kufi-type hats but I thought they'd go well with their outfits. So I got my hook out along with some of the Jaegar Aqua cotton in my stash and got crocheting.

mashallah....each time I come to your blog I get such a strong desire to learn how to crochet....

Vala, why not? Go for it!
Gill, the shell pattern hat, the one I've added a link for is a very straightforward pattern and ideal for a beginner. The others take a little longer to make up but I'll try and post a tutorial so you can see for yourself.
Assalaamu Alaikum, these are gorgeous masha'Allah...I'm going to save this pattern so I can try to make kufi's for my nephews insha'Allah.
Ma'asalaama
These are great! I'll take a look at the basic pattern and see about doing some for gifts!
Very nice, I use to have the same one in white.
I forgot, Thanks for your visit. She is doing better now, alhamdolillah.

Asalam Alaykum! I'm so happy I've found your blog - great stuff here. *sheds a tear as she remembers her years in Al-Khobar*
Anyhow - I'm hoping to make this kufee for my boys - do you think sock yarn would work? 1 skein? Do you happen to know the weight of the yarn you used?
JAK!

Wa alaykum salaam Hethr! You were in Al Khobar? The yarn I used here i thicker than sock yarn but sock yarn would work fine! You would probably have to increase rounds depending on how big you need it. Still, 1 skein should be more than enough! Looking forward to seeing it :)
