praying for my uncle

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you and jazakillahu kulla khayr to everyone that has left comments and messages for me about my uncle. Yesterday, the doctors said that both his kidneys have failed and that he will have to be on long term dialysis. I spoke to him yesterday and tried to tell him all the things I wanted him to know, that I miss him, that I always loved going to his home and feeling the warmth, that he always makes me feel better, that any sufferring will in sha Allah be recompensed. It's hard being far away. Alhamdulillah my Mum flew over and got to London this morning. She is at the hospital now. They are still waiting to transfer him from Harrow to a kidney specialist in Hammersmith. He hasn't had things easy in life, but nevertheless remained jolly and friendly all the time. That oil painting is one of his that is hanging in my parents' home! He is a very creative, talented soul who always brings a smile (and usually a giggle) to everyone's face ma sha Allah.

As salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh dear Sister

May Allah give your uncle courage and fortitude during this difficult time, ameen. I know just ow hard this is. My mother also suffers from kidney failure. She is presently on long-term dialysis. She goes to the hospital close to her home 3 times a week and each session lasts about 4 hours. She was very active and loved travelling so this made her very sad in the beginning, but she tried very hard to make the best of things. Dialysis helped her feel a lot better although it meant half her week was spent on he machine.

... My mum managed to spend even more time reading and learning the deen and tries to have as much fun as she can on her days off from her "part-time job" as she likes to call it :) in shaa Allah your uncle too will weather the difficult early days and regain his 'equilibrium'.

It's lovely to see that talent and creativity run in your family. *hug* Hang in there!

Praying for swift medical attention, and that he either adjusts swiftly or a miracle happens. It's not impossible after all. :)

Thinking of you and your family. Wonderful that your parents have his lovely painting. And it's good that you got to talk to him even if you can't see him now.

Ameen. Thank you everyone for your comments, thoughts and prayers. Imaan, I may need some tips from you on how my uncle and my cousins can deal with it!
