algerian sweets

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Baking can be a great medium for art (as well as being very therapeutic!) My inlaws spend a great deal of time and effort making these little biscuity cakes for weddings and other festivities. Some are made with light, crispy pastry while others are more like dense semolina cookies. Many are nut, date or honey filled and most are drizzled with either honey or syrup. But I love the way that they can be simple and rustic or complex and fancy depending on the occassion (or one's mood).
